Walnut oil is extracted by pressing from the walnut tree. It is in the form of a clear, light yellow oily liquid. When the oil is refined, it is devoid of its characteristic odor. The oil also has a fatty acid profile dominated by essential fatty acids – mainly linoleic acid (54-65%) and oleic acid (14-21%). It also contains smaller amounts of linolenic, palmitic and stearic acids.

Uses of walnut oil

Thanks to its rich fatty acid profile and gentle nature, walnut oil is widely used in cosmetics as a nourishing and moisturizing ingredient in skin and hair care products.

It is also valued in the food industry, especially in functional and health food products.

In dietary supplements, it can be used as a carrier of active substances or as an ingredient to support cardiovascular health due to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids.

Thanks to its neutral odor and stability, it can also be used as a base for essential oils, aromas and technical products.
