Properties and applications
Thyme essential oil has an intense, spicy scent with toning and energizing properties. It is rich in thymol and carvacrol – natural antiseptics with proven antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. This makes it an excellent choice for problematic skin, helping to cleanse and regulate sebum production.
The oil is excellent for aromatherapy. Inhalations help clear the respiratory tract, making breathing easier during colds and infections. Its warming properties make it an ideal ingredient in baths and massages for fatigue, muscle tension, and rheumatism. When inhaled, it promotes concentration and stimulates the mind.
Thyme oil is a potent oil, so it should always be diluted. It is not recommended to use it on the skin in its pure form, as it may cause irritation.
