Properties of white clay
Due to its cleansing and disinfecting properties, it is often used in products designed for problematic skin. It has the ability to absorb impurities and excess sebum, leaving the skin clean and mattified. The presence of aluminum silicate and other minerals helps accelerate the healing of skin lesions and reduce minor imperfections.
Application
White clay is widely used in facial, body, and hair care products. As a face mask, it’s perfect for deep pore cleansing, eliminating impurities, and soothing inflammation. It can also be used as a base for DIY masks, which can be enriched with plant oils, hydrolates, or plant extracts to further enhance its moisturizing, whitening, and anti-acne properties.
Thanks to its gentle exfoliating properties, white clay is also used as a gentle scrub for daily skin cleansing, and when combined with babassu oil or rose hydrolate, it creates an effective makeup removal bar. It can also be used for scalp care – it cleanses, regulates sebum production, and improves the condition of hair, especially oily and weakened hair.
White clay is recommended for use in masks, bath powders, and body wraps. Thanks to its mildness, it doesn’t irritate the skin and can be used regularly, even daily, by people with oily and combination skin.
How to prepare a white clay mask?
To prepare a white clay mask, simply mix it with hydrolate or boiled water to form a thick paste. For an additional moisturizing effect, add a few drops of natural vegetable oil. Apply the mask to slightly damp skin, avoiding the eye area, and leave on for 10–15 minutes, being careful not to let it dry out. Spraying the hydrolate on your face during application helps maintain the clay’s optimal effect. After the treatment, rinse your face with lukewarm water and follow with your favorite cream or serum.
